Bora Aksu At London Fashion Week

Second season in the raw I started London Fashion Week with Turkish designer’s Bora Aksu show. His spring/summer 2014 collection has been inspired by his childhood memories that have had such a big influence on him.

Designer moved away from dark colours he was showing last season but kept feminine shape in dresses, all nipped at the waist, in varying shades of white followed by bursts of bright yellow and fuschia on the closing floor-length dresses. Elegant pencil skirts and cropped jackets came on traditional handwoven Turkish textiles and geometric lace often came layered over silk tulle and chiffon in a way that felt wearable and accessible. Classic shapes have been contrasted with summer shorts and knitted tees while plastinated cottons update the traditional feel.

This collection is incredibly important to Bora Aksu as he celebrates 10 years anniversary at London Fashion Week.
