Shopping in Vilnius

europa-shopping-vilnius-550x374Some of you know I recently visited family in Lithuania. Well, I had great time and obviously did not miss the chance to do little shopping. Funny part that all my friends want to go shopping to London or Paris. I like too but I enjoy finding clothes, styles and shops I wouldn’t in London. And… Some of the clothes are cheaper than in London or Paris.
The main shopping areas in Vilnius can be divided neatly into the two areas of Old Town (antiques, amber, books old and new and some nice pieces of art) and parts of the city’s classiest street, Gedimino (designer clothes, mobile phones and more books). The city’s markets are also well worth a visit for an authentic, blast to the past experience if nothing else, as indeed are the increasing number of large shopping centres (think Westfield type if you’re in London or Les Halles if you’re in Paris) around the edge of the city, where among other things you’ll find all the clothing and footwear shops.

If you are not able at the time to travel to Vilnius, you can always shop online :)! So, the shops I liked most in Vilnius:

Stradivarius (http://www.stradivarius.com). I’m quite big fan of Spanish fashion brands and spend a lot of time in Mango or Zara stores. I’d like to introduce you not so famous one. It’s Stradivarius – feminine, glamour and bit wild fashion brand from Barcelona. I left a lot of money in one of Stradivarius shops in Vilnius with the hope to continue shopping online. It’s shame British website is still to come. So I have a choice to shop in one of international sites or just simply travel to Paris.

Reserved (http://www.reserved.com) – this brand also has something to offer for everyone trying to look trendy and unique. Last year I bought jacket and beautiful dress in here.

I also was pretty impressed with Estonian brand Monton (http://montonfashion.com), German S.Oliver (http://www.soliver.com), French Promod (http://www.promod.fr/). It would be unforgivable if I wouldn’t visit shoes shops as I can’t live without them. Shop not to miss called Divo (http://www.divo.lt) – unfortunately it seems this shop doesn’t have online version :(.

I also bought some jewelries with amber. My advice –  find them not in the big stores but in old town Vilnius (for example Traku str.) or if you’re willing to travel bit further take few hours or even whole day and visit little town Trakai approximately  30 kilometers away from Vilnius.
