Charity: The Mayor’s Fund for London is a charity focusing on improving the life chances and aspirations of disadvantaged children, young people and their families in London. The ultimate goal of our programme is to prepare London’s disadvantaged children with the skills they need to gain good jobs when they become adults. Building on our current programme, we want to focus more closely on supporting young children during their formative years, from before they are even born until they are 12 years old; developing the skills of literacy, numeracy, IT, communication and presentation to further their employment chances.
39% or 630,000 of London’s children and 44% of inner London’s children live in poverty. This is more than in any other region or country in the UK. Through your involvement in the Square Mile Masked Ball, you can help us change lives on our doorstep. If you’ve ever wanted to make a difference close to home, then there’s never been amore worthwhile cause than The Mayor’s Fund For London.
