First Part

“V0iD are one of the most talented bands we have in the UK”
Malcolm Dome – Total Rock
South Wales rock band V0iD release their new single ZER0 and second album of the same name (ZER0) this summer, which promises to delight all riff loving rockheads.

Tim Hamill who has also produced Lemmy, GirlSchool & Ronnie James Dio has produced the album and single with its rolling guitar hook and arresting chorus lyric. The single is based on the “near death experience” of the band’s lead singer and songwriter Wayne Doyle that found him waking up in a hospital bed dazed and confused.

The release of their first album Ballads for Beauties & Beasts received critical acclaim from the UK press & support from BBC 6, BBC Wales, Nation Radio and XFM (who also had them in to record a radio session). Since then the band have been busy playing festivals throughout Europe and the SXSW music gathering in Texas whilst writing the material for this album and single. On the awards front they have recently picked up Best Rock Song & Best Rock Act at the Exposure Music Awards in 2010.

Keen to be seen as a modern classic rock act, singer / writer Wayne Doyle has been busy developing the V0iD sound and looking to band’s like AC/DC for inspiration, which can be seen on the track Blow Your Mind. Other notable gems on the album include She Loves Me Not… with its melodic chorus, the power ballad Wide Awake and the softer acoustic number We’re Going Down which lyrically expresses the emotional turmoil experienced whilst realising cherished ambition or dreams close to the heart. The band will be touring the UK this year and playing the single ZER0 and other heavy gems from the V0iD treasure chest. Don’t miss!
